There is a symbiotic relationship of the intuitive and analytic in my approach to image making. My work is inspired and informed by the systems of science and mathematics and how those systems describe natural phenomena. Through my work, I pursue the juxtapositions of the following assumed dichotomies: stillness and motion, matter and energy, experience and information, and their synergy in space and time. The generative process of creating aims to mimic how natural forms grow and evolve. These concepts and ideas serve as a framework and a jumping off point as my studio, a way of dreaming and visualizing in dialog with these ready-made systems. I consider these systems to be a trellis to engage the spiritual and emotional dimensions of being. My practice strives to continuously be open, allowing in new information. It is space where the freedom to continually search, question and push into new territory is of the utmost importance.
